Firstly, Milton was a pure joy to deal with. He created an instrument that was not only exquisite to hear and play, but a true work of art. Throughout the process, he stayed in touch and checked to see what part I wanted in choice of wood, and shape as well as carvings. It was finished in stellar time, and boxed perfectly. The sounds is amazing, and I'm surprised at how easy it is to play with no formal training at all. Did not know anything about tuning or what scales to tune to, so he provided info on where to get a tuner, and developed an app to make things super simple. I couldn't be happier with this instrument, and have plans to have him do another instrument for me in a few months. His price is low for the quality you are getting, and the amount of time he must have put into creating it. I'm thrilled with this piece!!!

Really delighted with this ngoni! It seems to be quite hard to come by a well-built ngoni, and Milton has really thought through his innovative design, with its old-school banjo affinity. The five-string configuration (including the really useful fretable bass string) opens out an amazingly flexible range of modal tuning possibilities, and the playing strings and drone strings sound really great, acoustically and electronically (with the pick-up installed). It naturally sits a bit deeper in pitch than some ngonis I've heard, but the warmth works well, lending it an interesting timbre. Milton was brilliant and super responsive throughout the build process, and clearly brings some great musicianship to the table, not to mention fine craftsmanship. I am now looking forward to getting to know the instrument better! Ed

SkyAway's professionalism, craftmanship and timeliness stroke a cord in me as I was communicating with the artist himself (giving me choice of wood for different parts of the Ngoni). I was delighted when I received the Ngoni and to add a cherry on the cake, it was signed :-). I am learning to tune the instrument to my linking and let it play through me. Thank you !

This is my first kamele ngoni; I spent a long time considering several different options in this price range before deciding to purchase SkyAway’s design. I am so happy that I did. Milton tended to my questions in a timely & friendly manner, and that made me confident that this was a good choice. Upon receiving it, I could immediately tell that a great attention to detail was applied to its construction. The neck and cover engravings are a nice touch! Setting the ngoni up was a breeze thanks to the provided instructional video, and taking it apart feels straightforward, too. It is easy to switch between both an open and closed sound, and it pairs nicely with an amp as well (it is quite loud on its own). What an enthralling, beautiful sounding instrument — I am excited to grow alongside this kamele ngoni for many years to come!
